Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Pyre, Okikiolu Technologies Inc.'s browser extension and related services. Pyre is a browser extension that helps AppSec teams order review of GitHub Security overview advisories. It is an assistive overlay on the GitHub page you already use, not a replacement for GitHub Security, an issue tracker, or a separate dashboard.

At a glance

  • Pyre is licensed for business evaluation and use, not for personal consumer entertainment.
  • Classifications and labels are recommendations to help your team focus. They are not security, legal, or compliance advice.
  • Your organization controls deployment, permissions, and access to underlying tools.
  • You may stop using Pyre at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension.

Agreement and who these terms apply to

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between Okikiolu Technologies Inc. ("Okikiolu," "we," "us," or "our") and the individual or organization using Pyre ("you").

Pyre is intended for business use by engineering managers, platform teams, security teams, and other authorized personnel. If you use Pyre on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" includes that organization.

Your organization's IT, security, and legal policies may impose additional requirements on browser extensions. You are responsible for obtaining any internal approvals needed before installing or evaluating Pyre.

The service

Pyre is a browser extension that adds review labels, reasons, and similar-title groups to the GitHub repository Security overview page. It reads visible advisory content locally, applies deterministic classification logic, and presents labels and optional reduction on the page you are viewing.

The current pilot supports one workflow: the GitHub repository Security overview at /{owner}/{repo}/security. Pyre does not reorder GitHub's native advisory list, change GitHub severity labels, remediate findings, or close alerts.

Pyre does not create, edit, or delete records in GitHub or other tools. It does not provide workflow automation, incident command, or ticketing functionality.

Pilot program

Okikiolu may offer time-limited pilot access so teams can evaluate Pyre on their GitHub Security overview queue. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, pilots are provided for internal evaluation purposes, typically over a two-week period, and do not require production integration with your systems.

Pilot access may be changed or discontinued at any time. Features available during a pilot may differ from a generally available release.

License

Subject to these Terms, Okikiolu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Pyre for your internal business purposes.

You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or distribute Pyre except as expressly permitted by Okikiolu in writing.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Pyre only:

  • On tools and systems you are authorized to access
  • In compliance with applicable law and your organization's policies
  • In a manner that does not interfere with or disrupt Pyre, our website, or third-party services

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Pyre except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law. You may not use Pyre to develop a competing product, scrape data in violation of third-party terms, or misrepresent Pyre's output as an official determination by your underlying tools.

Your organization's responsibilities

You are responsible for how Pyre is deployed in your environment, including browser extension policies, user permissions, and access controls in GitHub.

Pyre relies on content visible in your browser session. You remain responsible for authentication, credential management, and compliance with the terms of service of GitHub (the supported pilot workflow).

You are responsible for decisions your team makes based on Pyre's labels, summaries, or recommendations.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy at usepyre.com/privacy explains how we handle information. By using Pyre, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

Okikiolu and its licensors own Pyre, including all software, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

You retain all rights to data, content, and materials in your underlying operational tools. Pyre does not claim ownership of your tickets, alerts, or other source data.

Disclaimers

Pyre is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Okikiolu disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Pyre's classifications, labels, groupings, and summaries are assistive recommendations based on visible page content and configured rules. They are not a substitute for professional security review, legal advice, compliance assessment, or human judgment. Okikiolu does not guarantee that Pyre will identify every important issue, eliminate all false positives, or reflect the priorities of your organization in every context.

Okikiolu is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or policies of third-party tools that Pyre overlays.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Okikiolu will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of Pyre, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Okikiolu's total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to Pyre or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Okikiolu for Pyre in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Okikiolu and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of Pyre, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your violation of any third-party rights or tool terms.

Termination

You may stop using Pyre at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension.

Okikiolu may suspend or terminate your access to Pyre if you materially breach these Terms or if we discontinue the product. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends immediately.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted on this website. Continued use of Pyre after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

The courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Pyre, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any written agreement between you and Okikiolu for paid or pilot services, constitute the entire agreement between you and Okikiolu regarding Pyre.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

You may not assign these Terms without Okikiolu's prior written consent. Okikiolu may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Okikiolu's failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
